Riesling
Rieslings are typically light to medium bodied, providing an intensity of flavour to the middle palate. They are often described as having a ‘steely’ or ‘minerally’ mouth feel. A younger Riesling is usually high in acidity and can display floral, aromatic, citrus or tropical like characteristics. With age, Rieslings can develop lanolin like texture and display complex flavours such as toast, honey and cedar.

Chardonnay
Chardonnay is considered to be a pliable style that provides avenue for winemakers to fully extend their winemaking skills. These wines will often range from medium to full-bodied. Chardonnay from cooler climates exhibits apple, quince, grapefruit and lime characters and those from warmer conditions display peach and tropical fruit like tones. Unoaked Chardonnay is generally medium bodied allowing the varietal fruit characters to emerge, finishing fresh and crisp on the palate. Oaked Chardonnay ranges from medium to full-bodied exhibiting plenty of fresh melon and peach flavours which are often complemented by vanilla and toasty oak tones derived from time in barrel and malo-lactic fermentation.
